Mumbai, June 14 -- The Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday sharply criticised the BJP-led central government following the United States' decision to invite Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir as the chief guest for its Army Day celebrations.
In a scathing editorial published in the party's mouthpiece, Saamana, the move was branded as a 'major diplomatic failure' and an 'insult to India's ongoing fight against terrorism'.
The editorial accused the US of undermining India's global efforts to isolate Pakistan over its alleged support for terrorism. It described the invitation as a "deliberate attempt to weaken India's fight" against terror under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
