Solapur, Dec. 31 -- Unidentified thieves allegedly burgled the residence of senior Shiv Sena leader Prakash Damodar Vankar in Solapur, making off with Rs 15.80 lakh in cash, police said today.
The incident occurred at Vankar's home in the Rajmudra Residency near Degav. As per the complaint, the burglars entered the house and stole the cash from a cupboard in the bedroom.
Vankar discovered the theft the following day and lodged a formal complaint at the Salgar Vasti police station. He is also the father of Shiv Sena's Solapur district chief, Ganesh Vankar.
