Ch. Sambhajinagar, Dec. 21 -- : The ruling Mahayuti alliance has taken an early lead in several municipal councils and nagar panchayats across Maharashtra's Marathwada region, as vote counting continued on Sunday. Initial trends, available till around 1.05 pm, point to a notable political shift in a region that has traditionally been considered a stronghold of the Congress.
Counting began at 10 AM on Sunday across all eight districts of Marathwada - Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Latur, Beed, Nanded, Dharashiv and Hingoli.
