Latur, Sept. 1 -- The Flood Control Cell of the Renapur Medium Project initiated the opening of two dam gates at precisely 8:00am today, to manage the increasing water level caused by substantial inflow into the catchment area.
This controlled water discharge into the Rena river basin has been implemented as a precautionary measure to maintain the dam's structural integrity and prevent potential flooding.
Both gates have been operationalised with a ten-centimetre opening each, resulting in a combined water discharge of 629.22 cusecs (equivalent to 17.82 cumecs) into the river basin.
