Mumbai, June 18 -- With heavy rains lashing Mumbai and its surrounding regions since the beginning of the week, the Powai Lake-one of the primary artificial reservoirs managed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)-overflowed on Wednesday. The lake, which has a storage capacity of 545 crore litres (5.45 billion litres), reached a water level of 195.10 feet, surpassing its capacity and spilling over at around 6 AM. Mumbaikars were seen enjoying the scenic beauty of Powai Lake. The lake, along with nearby waterfalls, became a popular spot for citizens eager to soak in the monsoon atmosphere. UNI AAA SS
