Nashik, Jan. 1 -- As many as 2,357 nomination papers were filed for the Nashik Municipal Corporation's 112 seats over the last six days, including 1,331 candidates who filed their applications on the last day yesterday (Tuesday).
Among the candidates is RPI district president and former corporator Prakash Londhe, who is in jail in a criminal case. It has been reported that he will contest the election on an RPI ticket from ward number 11. Also, his daughter-in-law Advocate Diksha Londhe filed the nomination papers by holding a grand rally of her supporters. Therefore, the father-in-law and daughter-in-law of the Londhe family will be in the election fray.
Prakash Londhe filed his nomination papers after the court gave him permission.
