Mumbai, May 31 -- One person was killed while another injured after a car parking lift collapsed at a 21-storey residential tower in Borivali area of city on Saturday morning, civic officials said.
The incident occurred at around 11 am at Prathamesh Building on Link Road, Borivali (west), where the car lift plummeted into a seven-metre-deep pit, trapping two people.
Firefighters rescued both victims-Shubham Madamlal Dhuri (30) and Sunjeet Yadav (45)-and rushed them to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation-run Shatabdi Hospital.
According to hospital authorities, Dhuri was declared 'brought dead' on arrival, while Yadav, who sustained a head injury, is reported to be in stable condition.
