Mumbai, June 16 -- In view of incessant heavy rains overnight has led to long traffic jams in city and its surrounding areas, the Mumbai Traffic Police have shared an alert of IMD and requested citizens to avoid coastal and low-lying areas, which are more prone to waterlogging. The department has assured that their staff is on alert and ready to assist residents in need. Heavy traffic was seen on busy Mumbai-Thane road, especially near Anand Nagar in Thane, on Monday morning. The rain, which began around midnight on June 15, has continued through the early hours of June 16, causing slow-moving traffic and road congestion in several areas.
