Kolhapur / Sindhudurg, May 24 -- The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday sounded a red alert for heavy rainfall on the Konkan coast for the next two days.

In a press release issued here, it has warned of heavy rainfall for next two days due to formation of low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea, while the sky will remain overcast over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the period.

It has also warned fishermen not to go fishing in the sea off the coast as strong winds at a speed of 45 to 60 Km per hour are likely to blow along the Konkan coast. UNI SSS SS
