Kolhapur, Feb. 25 -- The Karvir Forest department today registered a case against a man for illegally hunting a rare 'Shortfin Devil Ray Mobula Kuhlii' fish and exhibited for sale at a fish company in Phulewadi, a suburb of the city.
According to sources in Forest department, acting on a tip off, a team of Forest officials raided a Friendship Fish Company and seized the rare 'Shortfin Devil Ray Mobula Kuhlii' fish, which was hanged for sale.
Team members detained a man, identified as Sunil Vinod Satpute from Yedemanchindra in Walva tehsil of nearby Sangli district. who had brought the fish in the company.
