Pune, Aug. 3 -- Bharatiya Janata Party'a Maharashtra unit spokesperson and senior Ganesh festival activist Sandeep Khardekar today appealed to Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to initiate a dialogue with Ganesh Mandal representatives, elected officials, and eminent citizens to develop a mutually agreed-upon policy for conducting the Ganesh Visarjan procession in a peaceful, harmonious, and sacred atmosphere.
Khardekar made the appeal amidst emerging disputes over the order of participation in the Ganesh immersion procession, even before the festival begins.
