Mumbai, Aug. 19 -- A sub-inspector from the Kashigaon Police Station, which falls under the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar Police Commissionerate, was apprehended for accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a complainant, an official said today.
According to the disclosure made by ACB today, the case originated when the complainant's brother faced charges at Kashigaon Police Station. Sub-Inspector Palve allegedly demanded 25,000 rupees from the complainant on August 15, 2025, promising protection from arrest.
After the victim approached the ACB, investigators conducted a preliminary probe between August 15-18, verifying the complaint's validity.
During subsequent negotiations, Palve reduced his demand to 15,000 rupees.
