Dharashiv, Oct. 21 -- Four people were killed and two others seriously injured today after two cars collided head-on in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district, police said.

According to police sources, the tragic accident occurred this morning near Dalimb village in Umarga taluka. Both vehicles were completely wrecked in the collision.

The four deceased were identified as residents of Bidar district in Karnataka: Ratikant Maruni Bastronda (30), Shivkumar Chitanand Vagne (26), Santosh Bajrang Basgonda (20), and Sadanand Majhmi Basgonda (19).

Police stated that the youths, all residents of Khashampur, Bidar, were returning to their village in a Creta car after visiting a temple.
