Mumbai, June 2 -- An FIR (first information report) was registered against an illegal horse carriage operator following a complaint by PETA India, officials said here on Monday.
The incident occurred on Babulnath's Seaface Junction in the Gamdevi area of south Mumbai, where a horse-drawn carriage was spotted despite the Bombay High Court's 2015 ban on such vehicles.
The FIR was filed at Gamdevi police station under Sections 3 and 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
