Nagpur, Oct. 26 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today welcomed the Election Commission of India's decision to conduct a nationwide Special Summary Revision of voter lists, calling it a necessary and timely exercise.
Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis said he had been demanding such a revision since 2012. He dismissed the opposition's allegations of large-scale voter list manipulation as "baseless and politically motivated."Fadnavis suggested the opposition's complaints were motivated by recent electoral losses. "I welcome the Election Commission's decision. The opposition is making such allegations only because their 'note-theft' has stopped and they are demoralised after defeat," he said.
