Nagpur, Dec. 5 -- A political confrontation has intensified in Nagpur's Kamthi after Bahujan Republican Ekta Manch (BREM) president and former minister Sulekha Kumbhare on Friday levelled serious allegations against Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

Addressing a press conference here in Maharashtra, Kumbhare accused Bawankule of manipulating the Kamthi Municipal Council election process to secure victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) candidate.

Kumbhare alleged that traders and shopkeepers were threatened, money was used to influence voters and outsiders were brought in to cast votes.

She stated that video evidence and multiple complaints had been submitted to authorities.
