Sambhajinagar, Oct. 2 -- The 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri were commemorated with solemnity and enthusiasm across the eight districts of Marathwada on Thursday. The day was observed as a public holiday with widespread participation in educational, cultural and community service activities at schools, colleges, government offices and public venues.
