Thane, June 2 -- Three women suffered burn injuries-one of them seriously-after the battery of an electric two-wheeler exploded while charging at a residence in Almas Colony, Kausa, authorities confirmed on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday evening at around 5:15 pm and sparked a fire that rapidly spread through the home, damaging household items and electrical wiring.

The victims-Nusrat Syed (45), and her daughters Hafza (24) and Afza (18)-were inside their ground-floor apartment when the battery blast occurred.
