Mumbai, Nov. 20 -- A developing rift within the ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra has reached a crisis point with the Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde meeting the union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi late Wednesday night to complain that the BJP state unit president Ravindra Chavan was weaning away Shiv Sena leaders with various inducements.
This development comes close on the heels of Shinde faction ministers boycotting the state cabinet meeting earlier this week to protest against alleged poaching by the BJP to wean away leaders of allied parties.
