Mumbai, Feb. 26 -- A special court here today acquitted Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut in a defamation case filed against him by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya's wife, Medha Somaiya.
On September 26 last year, a Magistrate court had found Raut guilty of defaming Medha and had imposed a 15-day imprisonment sentence on him, but the same was suspended by the court to unable him to file an appeal in the Sessions courtRaut then filed an appeal seeking that the sentence be quashed as the order was "bad in law" and "improper on facts".
