Mumbai, June 16 -- The Maharashtra Congress on Monday demanded for a high-level inquiry into the Indrayani river bridge collapse incident near Pune, in which four people died and many injured. "The deaths due to the collapse of the bridge over the Indrayani river in Pune district are the victims of the government's negligence. Why did the dangerous bridge remain open when it was known that hundreds of tourists visit Kundamala during the monsoon," questioned Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal here. He has demanded that the government fix the responsibility and file a case of culpable homicide against the concerned officials.
