Kolhapur / Sindhudurg, May 11 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that the state government will develop the Rajkot fort area to give tourists experience of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's 'Swarajya'.

He stated this at dedication function of a new 83 feet tall statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj installed at Rajkot in Malvan tehsil of Sindhudurg district, in place of a 35 feet statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which had collapsed on August 26, 2024.

Talking to reporters after 'pujan' of the said statue, he said that to give feeling of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's 'Swarajya' to visitors, the land surrounding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue on the fort will be acquired.
