Mumbai, Nov. 19 -- A builder suffered serious injuries after two unidentified persons opened fire on him near a school in suburban Kandivali on Wednesday evening. The shooters fled immediately.

The victim, identified as builder Freddy Dilima, was parking his vehicle when the assailants approached and fired at him. Police reached the spot soon after receiving an alert and shifted him to the Oscar Hospital in Borivali for urgent medical treatment.

Doctors successfully removed two bullets from Dilima's stomach during surgery and stated that he is currently stable despite the severity of his injuries. Forensic experts were called to inspect the crime scene and collect evidence.
