Ch. Sambhajinagar, Feb. 28 -- The Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court has dismissed a writ petition filed by Mata Indrayani Gaushala, Parbhani, seeking custody of nine seized cattle and has directed that the animals be handed over to their owner, Shaikh Yunus, within 15 days under police supervision.
The case relates to an incident on 4 April 2024, when Nanalpeth Police in Parbhani allegedly intercepted a tempo on Jintur Road claiming transporting eight bullocks and one calf. As valid transport and ownership documents were not produced at the spot, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act and other applicable laws.
