Mumbai, Oct. 24 -- Senior BJP Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule today strongly denied allegations made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut that the BJP was illegally tapping the phone calls of its workers and opponents.

"We haven't tapped anyone's phone," Bawankule asserted.

The Minister clarified that the party has set up a "war room" ahead of the upcoming elections to monitor WhatsApp groups created at the booth level for better coordination among party workers.

Bawankule was recently accused of surveillance after he warned BJP workers at a meeting in Bhandara that any disloyalty would face consequences.
