Gadchiroli, Sept. 22 -- Gadchiroli police have arrested 92 people involved in a cockfighting betting ring in the dense forest area of Ranji Tola, officials said.
The operation took place under the jurisdiction of the Regdi Police Station.
The action, led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Aniket Hirde, resulted in the seizure of assets worth Rs 44.26 lakh. These included 46 motorcycles, five four-wheelers, 31 mobile phones, 14 roosters, 250 iron rods, and Rs 42,950 in cash.
The arrested individuals face charges under the Maharashtra Gambling Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
