Kolhapur, March 26 -- Kanchantai Parulekar, founder of Swayamsiddha Institution, passed away here on Wednesday afternoon due to a prolonged illness.
She was 74.
Ms Parulekar, who had been working faithfully for more than three decades for women economic self-reliance, entrepreneurship, injustice prevention and health through the 'Swayamsiddha' organisation across the state.
Late Ms Parulekar lived a life full of passion for women empowerment, taught entrepreneurship lessons to urban and rural women to make them financially independent. Through training, planning and implementation with inspired many women to stand on their own feet.
She had been suffering from cancer for past few years and her health deteriorated two days ago.
