Nagpur, Sept. 18 -- Maharashtra State Women's Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar today said the Commission will give priority to setting up pre-marital counseling centers to address rising divorce cases.
Speaking at a public hearing under the 'Mahila Aayog Aaplya Dari'(Women's Commission at your Doorstep) initiative here, Chakankar stressed the need for counseling not just after disputes but also before marriage, especially for the youth.
A total of 68 complaints were heard during the session, of which 37 were related to marital and family issues, 14 of social nature, 7 concerning financial and property disputes, 8 workplace harassment cases, and 2 in other categories.
