Nagpur, Dec. 7 -- The Maharashtra Opposition on Sunday boycotted the state government's customary tea party held on the eve of the Winter Session, for not appointing Leaders of the Opposition (LoPs) in both houses of the state legislature.
Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar, along with Bhaskar Jadhav of Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) and former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh NCP (Sharad Pawar group), held a joint press conference and launched a fierce attack on the Mahayuti government.
Wadettiwar recalled how in 1980 and 1985, when the BJP had 14 and 16 MLAs respectively, they were still given the Leader of Opposition post.
