Nagpur, Dec. 8 -- The winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature commenced in Nagpur on Monday, but concluded within a few hours on the opening day, as large-scale travel disruptions hindered the arrival of several lawmakers.
A major operational crisis involving IndiGo Airlines led to multiple flight cancellations and last-minute rescheduling, delaying the travel plans of political leaders.
While many legislators were stranded at airports, senior leaders were able to reach Nagpur using chartered aircraft. Several others are expected to arrive in the city by train or road over the next two days.
With a truncated attendance, only limited legislative business was taken up before both Houses were adjourned for the day.
