Mumbai, May 20 -- The Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday announced a new housing policy with the motto 'My home, my rights', besides seven other major decisions centred on the state's development across various sectors.

In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the government decided to set aside Rs 70,000 crore for the state's new housing policy with a comprehensive programme from slum rehabilitation. Specific needs of low-income earners, senior citizens, women, industrial workers and students will be given priority.
