Pune, Oct. 12 -- Maharashtra is set to become a major supplier of skilled manpower to the world, as countries like Germany and Japan have shown strong demand for trained human resources from the state, said state Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil here.

Speaking at a programme organized by the ShivSahyadri Charitable Foundation at Lady Ramabai Hall, S.P. College, Pune, he said Germany is facing a decline in its youth population, with a growing number of elderly citizens.

To meet its educational and employment needs, Germany requires skilled young people.
