Mumbai, Feb. 25 -- Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said on Tuesday that the state would consider deploying police personnel on the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses travelling to Karnataka. following an attack on a vehicle and its driver by pro-Kannada activists in Chitradurga last week.
"As the transport minister, I have to think about the security of our passengers. If there are some anti-social elements, then we need to think about deploying security marshals or police personnel on our state-run buses that go to Karnataka," Sarnaik said.
"Marathi is our pride and we need to look after the security of our passengers, and the issue will be discussed in the state cabinet meeting too," he said.
