Chandrapur, Sept. 21 -- Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule today said that encroachments on approach roads leading to agricultural fields will be removed across the state as part of a new initiative to improve farmers' income.
Speaking to reporters during the ongoing "Seva Pandharwada" (service fortnight), the minister said the government will map such roads and plant scheduled trees along them, which require official permission to cut.
Bawankule announced that the "Chief Minister Baliraja Paddy Road Scheme" will be introduced within the next six months to construct concrete roads to farmlands. He stated that the Revenue Department, with the help of district administrations, will clear encroachments on these roads.
