Mumbai, Jan. 8 -- In a major political upheaval in Ambernath, 12 newly elected Congress councillors from the Ambernath Municipal Council formally joined the BJP on Thursday, delivering a severe blow to the Congress and sharply altering the civic body's political balance.
The induction took place at a specially organised programme at the BJP's Navi Mumbai regional office, attended by state ministers Ganesh Naik, Sanjeev Naik and Deepesh Mhatre, with BJP state president Ravindra Chavan presiding.
The councillors who joined the BJP are Pradeep Nana Patil, Darshana Umesh Patil, Archana Charan Patil, Harshada Pankaj Patil, Tejaswini Milind Patil, Vipul Pradeep Patil, Manish Mhatre, Dhanalakshmi Jayshankari, Sanjavani Rahul Devde, Dinesh Gaikwa...
