Jalgaon, Dec. 29 -- In a stringent crackdown on outstanding bills, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has disconnected power supply to 6,000 consumers in the Jalgaon zone during December. The utility now plans to intensify the drive and publicly name major defaulters, including politically influential ones.
The Jalgaon zone, covering Jalgaon, Dhule, and Nandurbar districts, faces a severe financial crisis with total dues exceeding Rs 11,033 crore from approximately 6.5 lakh low-tension (domestic and commercial) consumers.
