Mumbai , May 31 -- The Maharashtra Police have invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) on four accused allegedly involved in a violent robbery at an energy plant in Beed district, sources said on Saturday.

The incident took place on April 7 at an Avaada Group facility in Vida village, Kej tehsil (Beed), where a group of 14 assailants attacked two security guards.

Watchmen Akash Jadhav and Abhijeet Dunghav were tied up with bedsheets and thrashed before the gang made off with valuables valued at 12.87 lakh.

A police investigation led to the arrest of four suspects - Baban Sardar Shinde, Dhanaji Kale, Mohan Hari Kale, and Lalasaheb Pawar - all residents of Beed and Dharashiv.
