Mumbai, March 19 -- The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena today demanded the ouster of Maharashtra State Women's Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, after a video of Ms Chakankar washing the feet of Nashik-based spiritual guru "Captain" Ashok Kharat who has been arrested in a serial rape and sexual exploitation case, went viral.
Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare alleged that Ms Chakankar is a member of the arrested godman Ashok Kharat-controlled Shri Shivnika Sansthan Trust, even while she was also the Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Women's Commission. Ms Chakankar also happens to be a prominent leader of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
