Mumbai, Dec. 13 -- There is a strong possibility that elections to major municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, will be held in January.
BJP State President Ravindra Chavan indicated today that Zilla Parishad elections may be delayed. He also recently held discussions with union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the election schedule.
Chavan suggested that Zilla Parishad elections are likely to be postponed, while municipal corporation elections are expected to be conducted first. He stated that the municipal polls could take place in January.
Meanwhile, around 2,350 BJP workers in Pune have prepared to contest the Pune Municipal Corporation elections.
