Mumbai, Dec. 17 -- Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, who had landed in trouble in connection with irregularities in the allocation of flats in Nashik, resigned on Wednesday.
Kokate submitted his resignation to Deputy Chief Minister and party leader Ajit Pawar.
Acting on the request made by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Governor Acharya Devvrat approved the necessary action. Following this, the Chief Minister withdrew the portfolio that was held by Kokate. The portfolio held by Kokate have been handed over to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
