Mumbai, Aug. 25 -- Manoj Jarange Patil, a prominent Maratha reservation activist, has given the Maharashtra government a 48-hour ultimatum, threatening to launch an indefinite hunger strike at Mumbai's Azad Maidan starting August 29 if their reservation demands are not met by August 26.

"If reservation is not given, the government will be overthrown," Jarange said during a press conference in his native village of Antarwali Sarati.

He called on Marathas across the state to join the Mumbai movement, urging them to leave their businesses, jobs and agricultural activities to participate.
