Nagpur, Nov. 27 -- Maharashtra revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday said the government will suspend loan-recovery proceedings against farmers for one year, stating that no coercive measures will be taken during this period.

The senior BJP leader said the decision reflects the state's commitment to supporting farmers facing financial distress.

Bawankule emphasised that the administration stands firmly with the farming community and will ensure that no official or agency troubles farmers at their homes while the recovery freeze remains in force.
