Mumbai, March 17 -- Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday announced in the Maharashtra Assembly that the state government-run 'Shiv Bhojan Thali' and 'Anandacha Shidha' schemes will continue and clarified that the state government had not taken any decision to discontinue these welfare programmes.
Making announcement in the lower house, he assured that while payments to some vendors under these schemes are pending, the government was taking necessary steps to resolve the issue at the earliest.
Launched to support the state's poor and needy citizens, these schemes have provided thousands of people with affordable meals and essential food grains.
