Nagpur, Dec. 12 -- The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a bill to remove derogatory terms such as "leper" and "leprosy patient" from the Prevention of Begging Act.
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare on Thursday told the House that the move follows a Supreme Court directive issued on May 7, 2025.
