Ch. Sambhajinagar, Nov. 29 -- The investigation into the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar fake IAS officer case has widened, with police now probing possible links to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to local police sources, an Afghan national was detained from Delhi late Friday night, and a man who allegedly posed as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the union Home Minister has also been apprehended.

The main accused, Kalpana Trimbakrao Bhagwat (45), a former senior assistant at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, was earlier arrested for allegedly forging an IAS appointment letter and impersonating a 2017-batch IAS officer.
