Mumbai, July 9 -- The Maharashtra Congress today criticised the BJP alliance government's decision to grant Adani Power a licence for distribution of electricity in parts of the state, warning that it could seriously threaten the existence of the State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). In a strongly worded letter to the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC), Rajesh Sharma, general secretary of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and former Deputy Mayor, has raised serious objections to the proposal of issuing power distribution licences to Adani Power.
