Mumbai, May 12 -- Congress spokesperson Sureshchandra Rajhans on Monday accused the Maharashtra government of attempting to privatise the solid waste department of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation under its 'Mumbai Vikas' scheme through the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Administrator.
"This is a plan to destroy the 32,000 sanitation workers working in this department, their heirs and the poor working people of Mumbai and push this project to its beloved contractors," he alleged.
