Mumbai, May 16 -- Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Harshvardhan Sapkal today called on Shiv Sena party chief and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at his Matoshree residence. Sapkal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of destroying "Maharashtra religion" -- of Shiv, Shahu, Phule, Ambedkar.
"BJP is destroying the constitution and democratic system; the MVA and India Aghadi are working to protect it, he said.
"Congress is with the parties that will come to fight against BJP. We are together with Shiv Sena to save democracy, constitution and Maharashtra religion," he said.
After his meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, Sapkal said that it was a courtesy call, during which various issues were discussed positively....
