Mumbai, June 6 -- Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal today hit out against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying that Yogi is "telling a false history" that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's guru was Ramdas Swami.
"Ramdas Swami was not Shivaji Maharaj's guru but misinformation is being spread deliberately. This same Yogi Adityanath has insulted Shivaji Maharaj by wearing the Maharaj's jiretope (headgear).
"This jiretope has immense importance, but BJP leaders are continuously insulting Maharaj by wearing the jiretope. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had also worn the jiretope," he said.
