Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today ruled out granting immediate reservation to the Maratha community under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, citing legal constraints and potential judicial challenges.
Responding to activist Manoj Jarange-Patil's demand for instant quota benefits, Fadnavis said several previous court verdicts oppose such a move. "Any decision taken outside the legal framework will not hold in court and could create a sense of betrayal among the community," he added.
